Jaci Burton was my introduction to sports romance books and I have never looked back. I love them! All Wound Up is the tenth book in the Play-by-Play series.

This is Tucker and Aubry's story. It is very real and will have you in stitches at times and shedding tears at other times.

Tucker is an up and coming baseball pitcher with the St.Louis Rivers team. Clayton Ross is the owner of the team and Aubrey is his daughter. Now that should give you a hint of how things are going to go.

Tucker and Aubry met in her father's wine cellar during one of his get to know the players parties. The circumstances were unusual, serious and funny all at the same time.

Aubry is on her way to being an emergency room doctor and was now a resident. Her father was proud of her but extremely protective. He is always telling her he is looking out for her and that she should stay focused. Work, study and sleep. There will be time for fun and romance once she has finally become a doctor.

The attraction between Tucker and Aubry is very strong and soon they are acting on it. They are having fun and enjoying each others company. But her father does not know about their 'friendship'.

Aubry and Tucker were two amazing characters with beautiful hearts and no flair for the dramatic. I loved the simplistic story of falling in love with an overzealous, protective dad. They have a simple yet profound love that couldn't be broken just strained for a moment. Absolutely amazing!
I love the Play by Play series. Tucker has a relatable personality and I love that Aubry is a protagonist with personal drive that has nothing to do with her relationship. Nailed the characters, for me at least, and the story flows really well. It's definitely a great read.

Aubry & Tucker are made for one another...they just have a few battles to make them realize how amazing they would be together to go through first.
Filled with lots of sizzle, All Wound Up has it's heartbreaking moments, but they are so very worth it.

If you haven't read any of the books from the series, you really must, and you really don't need to be sports fan to enjoy them, though you might be when you finish. ;)
Oh Jaci what has happened?!?! This series used to be one of my favorites. I have read and re-read many of the first few books in this series. The last few in this series including this one just don't have the same steam and engaging story line that the previous ones do. This one started out cute and the initial meeting was well played but after that I just felt like things went flat and there was nothing that was really holding my interest. It all felt kind of "been there done this". Overall not a fan but I would still recommend the first 5 in this series.

In All Wound Up we meet another Cassidy, this one being Tucker Cassidy the only baseball player among all football players within his family.
Tucker is a recent addition to the Rivers baseball team and he has the pleasure of meeting Aubry Ross in a very unconventional way.
Aubry Ross a up and coming doctor whose father happens to own the Rivers meets Tucker at a team party at her parents home.
They might have met a time or two unconventionally but the chemistry is steamy from the get go and what you are hoping is that with the strains of both their careers they can make a relationship work.
What they don't expect are hurdles tossed their way but with a little bit of faith you just hope they can find that HEA.
If you are looking not only for a book but a series that will leave you with a smile on your face this is the one you don't want to miss
I guess it was inevitable, in a multi-multi-multi book series Eventually there's a swing and a miss. In this, the 10th installment of Jaci Burton's Play-by-Play sports series, we have a hero and heroine who meet cute (not too often does the H drops trou within minutes of meeting the h, but in the context of the story it works). Then it all goes downhill. While it's fun to catch up with characters from earlier books, it all gets a little too much about the backstory(ies). Just paragraphs and laundry lists summarizing past plots.

The heroine, who is supposed to be this high-powered career gal doctor, turns out to be entirely middle-school girl when it comes to her relationship with the hero. She won't text him back because he waited too long to contact her after their hot date. She ignores his calls when he does something "wrong." Her girlfriend has to convince her to go out with the guy in the first place. And so on. I was more than halfway through the book before there was an inkling of the Big Conflict. They were just texting, calling, eating and oh yes, having sex. Lots and lots of sex. Other Play by Play novels explored conflicts such as death in the family; hiding a learning disability; escaping family expectations and repairing family feuds. In All Wound Up, the Big Conflict turns out to be something a teenager would probably shrug off and it all gets wrapped up quickly and there you go, we're set for Book 11.
